Washi Tape Frames
I had received this Washi Tape Frames idea from various blog posts that I’ve seen online and thought that it would be the perfect gift. Who couldn’t use more picture frames throughout ther house? And now a days when we have a camera literally attached to our hips, you can now print those thousands of photos and display them in such a cute ways!
I love displaying pictures, especially black and white ones. Therefore when you have a colorful frame, it definitely brings out the brightness and contrast of the black and white photo. There are so many different designs of washi tape now a days, you could literally match the photo if you would like! …maybe I should remember that idea the next time. :)
This project is pretty simple, doesn’t cost much, and literally takes no time at all to accomplish. Honestly, even a child could do it.
Materials:
- wooden frame
- washi tape
- scissors
- mod podge
Start by placing one strip across the edge of the frame. Depending on the pattern on your tape, when you place the next strip you may have to go the opposite direction. It may take some time getting used to the pattern and how you would like it displayed! Don’t get frustrated! Also, you may want to think about the back and how it may not show. So if you need to adjust anything, make sure the mistakes are mostly in the back! :)
Basically, you just keep going until the whole frame is completely covered. :) Try to make the strips of tape as long or as wide as the frame (depending on the design you complete). The less cutting and pieces you have, the less change you have of it coming a part. Also keep some mod podge on hand in case the tape isn’t sticking together or staying in place!
Here’s another example that I did. :) This one was a little more difficult because of the pattern.
Ta-da! :)
