Must-Read Secrets To Designing A Bedroom For A Perfect Night’s Sleep

We all feel better after a good night’s sleep. It prepares us for the next day, helps us to forget the previous one, and lowers our anxiety levels. It is not always easy to get enough shut-eye because of our surroundings. Luckily, they are something that we can change to make them suitable for a place of rest.

If you are about to take on a bedroom revamp, you will find some interesting ideas here that will help with your design. Read and take from it what you wish, it is my gift to the world.

Declutter

Decluttering is one of the most important parts of the project. Even if you do not intend to redecorate or introduce new furniture, clearing the air will act to relax your mind on a subconscious level. You must be brutal when deciding what to keep and what to throw away. We form unhealthy attachments to many objects that serve no purpose and no sentimental value. Have three bags or boxes in the room. Use the first for things to throw away, the second for things to take to a charity shop, and the third one for things to keep. The first two will probably fill up much quicker than the third one if you are doing the job correctly.

Storage

A bedroom must have a place to store clothes, shoes and other things out of sight. The ultimate solution is built-in wardrobes. Suppliers will design and build bedroom furniture to fit your room perfectly and make best use of the space available. You give them your specification ideas and leave the rest to them, and they will take care of everything for you. It is probably a good idea to deal with the storage issue before decorating.

Daylight

We can all sleep better in a dark room. During the summer, the sun rises very early and often interrupts our sleep, so think about putting blackout blinds up at the window. The attractive products will not let any light through the material. If light still leaks around the edges, fit drapes too; that usually does the job.

Decor

Now you have a clutter free and dark room think about painting the walls. Neutral colours, such as brown or beige works well but don’t be afraid to opt for rich dark colours instead to create a mood.

Lighting

I have written so much about lighting in the past, but I still feel it is necessary to stress its importance to making a relaxed atmosphere in any room. Table lamps are a gift to designers who use them to light up dark corners, or cast shadows on the walls to change the ambiance of a room at the flick of a switch. You should use them too.

Flooring

Use warm carpet in your room. The latest fashion of using laminate as a flooring material frustrates me because it is such a cold, unforgiving surface for bedrooms. before you climb into bed at night, and when you wake up, a thick carpet feels luxurious underfoot; perfect for a good start to the day.

As you can see, a perfect space is within the reach of everyone. Some may say all of these suggestions are common sense. If that were the case, then everyone would have perfect night time surroundings. There is something in here for everyone, I hope you make use of it.
