Gone Girl movie review
I watched this movie a few weeks ago after hearing about how crazy it was. I had never read the book, so I didn’t completely know what the movie/story was about, only that a man is a suspect after his wife goes missing. However, that’s honestly not the whole entire plot of the story; this story is MUCH crazy than that and even more crazy than you could ever imagine. :)
This movie received a lot of hype and publicity when it came out due to how well the book did. The story was written by Gillian Flynn. While I have never read it, I can say that after seeing the movie, I think it’s something I should definitely check out. I do have it purchased, it’s just sitting on my Kindle waiting for me to have some free time on my hands. LOL
The movie tells of a (perfect, or should I say to those on the outside) married couple. The story bounces back and forth to when Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy Dunne met, as well as their fifth wedding anniversary. On the morning of their anniversary, Amy mysteriously vanishes leaving behind a rather suspicious trail of evidence. The authorities and the media quickly swoop down on Nick because Amy’s mom is so well known for writing books “about” Amy and her perfect life. You start to suspect Nick because it’s obvious that he’s very nice, however he may not be telling the whole truth.
Gone Girl is creepy, witty, breathtaking, strange, addicting, and it will definitely leave you with your jaw wide open. This is DEFINITELY NOT A KIDS/FAMILY movie. There are MANY strange and crazy scenes that literally make you rethink a lot of relationships that you may seem like you think you know. I do recommend the movie, but I’m not so sure that I can say it’s one of my favorites because of how crazy it really is!
